Following my graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree, I joined in this chemistry program in the faculty of science at Chulalongkorn University for 4 years (2008-2011). While studying in the program of organic chemistry program at Chulalongkorn University (2011-2013), I obtained a short-term grant from a Japanese Student Services Organization to visit at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Ishikawa, Japan. Moreover, I had an opportunity to participate in the International Symposium on Chemical Engineering 2013 in Busan. From 2014 to 2017, I continually studied in the Ph.D. program of organic chemistry. I was granted by the IMS-IIPA organization to receive a scholarship as an internship student in the department of life and coordination-complex molecular science, complex catalysis at the Institute for Molecular Science under Assoc.Prof.Dr.Norie Momiyama. After PhD graduation, I started working as a postdoctoral researcher for 5 years totally under Assoc.Prof.Dr.Anawat Ajavakom. Besides, I used to be a visiting researcher for 6 months at Osaka University, Japan under Prof.Dr.Mamoru Tobisu who specializes in organometallic chemistry. Until now, I have been a lecturer at the Futuristic Science Research Center, School of Science, Walailak University. Currently, we focus on the synthesis and development of novel organic compounds that could be utilized to be fluorescent sensors for the detection of metal ions, anions, and toxic compounds resulting from anthropogenic and environmental sources. Some of these developed sensors were further applied in biological cells such as animal, plant, and bacteria cells to prove the possession of cell-permeability and visualization of its fluorescence in living cells. To become ubiquitous for on-site analyses, we are interested in the development of these fluorescent sensors onto supporting materials such as paper-based strips, bacterial cellulose, and nanocellulose. At present, I teach the Principles of Organic Chemistry course for students who study in the Applied Thai Traditional Medicine program, mainly first-year undergraduate students.

   Currently, the toxicity and contamination of metal ions are significant issues that impact health and the environment. Contaminants can enter the body by consuming food, drinking water, or contact with contaminated products. Long-term exposure leads to the accumulation of metal ions in the body resulting in disfunction of various organs, such as the heart, blood vessels, respiratory system, digestive system, endocrine system, and brain. Moreover, it causes symptoms e.g., fatigue, weakness, and an increased risk of cancer. Fluorescence spectrometry has been widely used for the detection of metal ions thanks to its high sensitivity and specificity, quick response time, non-destructive sample, and low-cost analysis. This technique is used for both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Generally, a fluorescent sensor is designed to possess fluorophore as a signaling unit and receptor as a binding unit. After interacting with metal ions, it shows fluorescence responses. The development of fluorescence sensor technology to detect the contamination of metal ions aims to make it more user-friendly, compact, portable, and cost-effective. With these advantages, individuals and organizations will have easy access to them. This fluorescence sensor technology for metal ion detection has been continuously researched and developed to create a paper-based test strip as a portable test kit. This test kit can be applied to determine the metal ion contents in real samples, for instance, natural waters, drinking water, tap water, foods, supplements, cosmetics, and drugs. A test strip allows for the analysis of color changes, which can be correlated to the metal ion concentration. This innovation makes metal ion contamination detection more accessible to the general public. It reduces the risks of metal ion contamination in the production process e.g., drinking water, foods, and cosmetics. Moreover, it aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goals 3, 4, 6, 9, 10, and 17.
